12, 19, 26th April + 3rd May: ArtStories have an NAC-AEP Approved Art Programme which will allow eligible schools to tap into fundings for Art, Music, Dance, Media and Theatre programmes offered by local Artists and Arts Groups/Companies.
We started our Peranakan Tile Painting (Heritage Series) with Corporation Primary School with their Art Club Students.
In this programme, we learnt about Peranakan Culture, Heritage and the Symbols/Motifs that has become a significant icon of Peranakan Culture. Namely, the tiles on the facade of noticable shophouses and heritage buildings.
The students were guided on a 4 session programme from the Introduction to the technical detail of transferring image on paper to tile and eventually hand painting these tiles with acrylic paints.
