We did a collage-making project with Haig Girls, honoring the Peranakan Houses in Singapore! Through this hands-on activity, the students explored the unique architectural features and cultural significance of these iconic shophouses. Using only cardboard pieces, glue, tape, styrofoam, paints, and papers, the students created their version and understanding of Peranakan Houses.
This project not only fostered creativity and teamwork but also deepened their appreciation for Singapore’s multicultural history and the vibrant Peranakan culture. It was inspiring to see how the students brought these traditional designs to life through their imaginative and thoughtful creations.
