Jacquelyn was selected by Bedok Bougainvillea Residents’ Committee RC to conduct a series of term classes as part of a special Mixed Media Art Programme for children aged 4 to 12 years old. Designed to spark imagination and creativity, Jacquelyn integrated storytelling elements into the curriculum, encouraging each child to create their very own unique story through art.
The programme guided students to think about important storytelling components such as characters, plot, setting, and scenes, and then bring these ideas to life using a variety of art materials and techniques. One memorable highlight was a student who created a heartwarming story about a crab on a journey to find its way back home, showing both creativity and emotional depth.
Throughout the programme, the children gained not only artistic skills but also built confidence in expressing their ideas, developing narratives, and sharing their stories with others. Jacquelyn’s approach made the classes a safe space for self-expression and exploration. The programme was a great success, bringing joy, inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the power of combining art and storytelling in a meaningful way.
