As part of its Mid-Autumn Festival celebration, the Bukit Gombak Community Club was thrilled to have artist Jacquelyn and her trainees lead a unique workshop on fan marbling and dried flower bookmark making. Residents of all ages came together for a colorful, creative, and joyous evening at the workshop.
Marbling, a captivating technique that turns simple surfaces into flowing patterns of swirling colors, was presented to the participants. Each person created their own exquisitely marbled paper fans by experimenting with paint, water, and movement; each one was distinctive and striking.
Using actual dried flowers, participants were asked to make sophisticated bookmarks in the workshop’s other section, fusing art and nature in a delicate, practical exercise. Along with celebrating the spirit of mid-autumn, the program promoted rest, creativity, and camaraderie throughout the community.
As the session came to an end, attendees proudly brought their personalized fans and bookmarks home, beautiful mementos that perfectly encapsulated the festival’s excitement and the beauty of artistic expression.
