Jacquelyn’s Peranakan Tile Painting Programme was a wonderful experience for North Spring Primary School kids! As the students learnt about the peranakan culture’s beginnings, distinctive blend of customs, and the exquisite craftsmanship that goes into its trademark tile designs, the workshop brought history and creativity to life.

Using vibrant paints and their vivid imagination, they enthusiastically re-created traditional Peranakan motifs, such as geometric shapes and floral patterns, while experimenting with their own color schemes and creative flair. It was enjoyable for the pupils to exhibit their creativity and learn about the cultural significance of each design.

As they displayed their colorful tiles—each one a significant representation of Singapore’s eclectic background and their newly discovered respect for local art—the classroom was a hive of laughing, color, and pride.
