26th June 2019 – Just two days before my Birthday, I was at Shenton Way to conduct a fun corporate class Tie Dying class to 40 employees of Aviva Ltd.
As the fabric has to be dried before it can be opened up, we could only teach the first half of the process which involve tying the fabric pieces and explaining the types of folding patterns to create different designs. I taught the basic Bamboo/Accordion Fold & Sunburst pattern.
Some of the participants decided to experiment with their own tying technique and I was very curious to see how that will turn out!
We used batik dyes for this session as we are only given one hour class to teach so we had to improvise and work with what we have!
