Kheng Cheng Primary – Printmaking

At Kheng Cheng Primary, primary students had a fantastic time learning and creating their own Peranakan-style stamps. Immersed in the rich cultural heritage of the Peranakan tradition, the students eagerly explored the intricate patterns and designs that are characteristic of this unique art form.

Using rubber, and other materials, they carefully carved and stamped traditional motifs such as flowers, geometric shapes, and mythical creatures onto paper, creating their own vibrant works of art.

The process allowed the students to not only develop their creativity but also gain an appreciation for the beauty and history of Peranakan culture. Laughter and excitement filled the room as students proudly shared their stamped creations with one another, exchanging ideas and celebrating each other’s artistic efforts.

By the end of the session, the students had gained both new skills and a deeper understanding of the Peranakan style, leaving with their own personalized stamps as a keepsake of the fun and educational experience.
