String Art & Chinese Ink Painting Workshop

6th September – ArtStories conducted a 3 hour String Art & Chinese Ink Painting workshop with staff from Workforce Development Agency.

The staff were on their team-building course and had selected our workshops to enhance their experience.

I taught them String Art which is becoming more popular with adults and children as it involves tactile approach in handling hammers, nails, wood and strings. They made small pieces of the work in shapes of star, boat, heart and even wording.

Next they had Chinese Ink Painting workshop where many tried this medium for the first time. It was relaxing and peaceful time with soft chinese orchestra music playing in the background. They were taught basic ink painting on handling the brush, ink and amount of water onto the paper. Many drew bamboo, birds and flowers.
