Singapore Slang

10th August 2019 – Our completed embroidery installation art piece is finally up on 10th August at Wisma Geylang Serai and have now been moved back to Kampong Chai Chee CC where it will be a permanent fixture in their venue.

This is an accumulation of a long journey with the residents from teaching them to sew to completing the installation. I love it when we are able to see so many different types of Singlish Puns on the embroidery and the different iconic symbols and icons of Singapore really brighten up the mood!

On the same day, we also conducted a batik flora sewing on a large cloth and invited walk-ins and passersby to sew a patch onto the large cloth.

Please enjoy the photos!
