Waterway Primary School Mural Art Programme

What started as a conversion about bringing students together to contribute an idea to their school, sprouted to a collaborative wall-mural project with students and teachers from Waterway Primary.

The students brain-stormed their ideas and sketched on paper in the first 4 sessions of the programme. What followed was a collaborative design put together by a designer to ceate a story; narrative of the students’ collective ideas – A mural representing ‘Belonging & Inclusiveness’, ‘Joy & Play’, ‘Kindness & Empathy’.

In the remaining 6 weeks, the class was divided into two groups; one group was painting on the mural with their teachers and ArtStories artists, the other group painted on wooden shaped designs of triangle, circle, heart, star, diamond and clover; each representing a symbol related to the mural.

The final reflected the collective energy and spirit of the school, assisted with artists from ArtStories. We are grateful for the opportunity to create meaningful projects with the community!
